Natalie Varetto - Neurological Physiotherapist

Natalie Varetto Neurological Physiotherapist

Natalie graduated with her physiotherapy degree from Liverpool University in 2003. She started her physiotherapy career in Liverpool working for the NHS in two large teaching hospitals. During this time she realised her passion was neurological and older people rehabilitation. She then went on to work for several years for the NHS in the community in Stockport.

Natalie then moved to Amsterdam for 4 years where she built her own practice treating expats. This allowed her to further develop her musculoskeletal skills. On returning to the UK she worked for a private hospital for a year, gaining valuable orthopedic experience. Following this, Natalie has been able to use her unique blend of musculoskeletal and neurological skills, allowing her to treat complex conditions in a private clinic.

A person receiving neurological physio treatment

Natalie is an excellent neurological physio. She has helped me recover from a serious injury that affected me both mentally and physically. Her kindness and patience have been as important as her physio knowledge.

Natalie gets the balance right between supporting you and yet pushing you enough to make sure you are recovering as best you can. She is a wonderful asset to Radcliffe Group.

I know she will go from strength to strength in her professional role.

Philippa

I have ataxia, and Natalie is an incredibly caring and professional therapist who truly goes the extra mile.

My exercises are always tailored to me, and working with Natalie has been a huge help. Her experience with neuropathy has been an added bonus and makes her the perfect therapist for my needs.

Physiotherapy for adults living with age-related conditions

This area of physiotherapy focuses on supporting adults who are experiencing physical challenges associated with the natural aging process. These may include orthopaedic conditions including osteoarthritis and post orthopaedic surgery (for example joint replacement surgery), age-related vulnerability, or a general decline in strength, balance, and endurance that can make everyday activities—such as transfers and walking—more difficult.

Over time, these changes can impact confidence and increase the risk of falls. Our physiotherapy approach aims to restore mobility, build strength, and enhance independence, helping you move with confidence at every stage of life.

Natalie has recently completed her APPI Neuro Pilates certification, expanding her expertise in mat-based Pilates specifically tailored for clients with neurological conditions. This advanced training allows her to thoughtfully integrate Pilates exercises into treatment sessions, targeting impairments related to conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and more.

Exercise plays a vital role in managing neurological conditions. Pilates can help reduce the effects of neuromuscular changes such as muscle shortening, weakness, and learned non-use. By incorporating Neuro Pilates, Natalie supports clients in building strength, improving mobility, and preventing disuse weakness—focusing not only on affected areas but also on
maintaining the function of non-affected muscle groups.

Each session is thoughtfully adapted to suit individual needs, ensuring a safe, effective, and empowering experience for every client.
